hen possible tours are scheduled to coincide with Colonial encampments, battle reenactments or other historical tours, events or sites that coincide with the theme of the ride. This greatly enhances your experience by allowing yourself to be vicariously transported back to the 17th, 18th or 19th century. Please mingle with the reenactors or historical interpreters as they completely immerse themselves in their personas. See and smell foods cooked over open pit fires with 17th and 18th century recipes. Hear the roar of booming cannon and musket volleys. Touch authentic reproduction or real 17th or 18th century items. Stroll through historical sites as if time has stood still. Nothing modern is allowed in reenactor encampments. Your photographs will be authentic mementos of days gone by. Most reenactors and living history interpreters are highly approachable and eager to hear your questions as they remain in character to interact with you.
American Heritage Bicycle Tours reserves the right to change or eliminate encampments or battle reenactments based on unforeseen circumstances concerning an events cancellation. If a tour does not include an encampment or battle reenactment other adventure activities will be planned in its place that will serve to add equivalent value and excitement to your bicycle adventure.
